Subject Matter Experts

Verity subject matter expertise is provided in the areas of strategic simulation planning, threat modeling, mission planning, 6DOF simulation development, system simulation development and integration, tactical system development, hypersonic missile systems, and integrated defense architecture characterization. Problem solving innovations applied have led to the measurements and critical understanding of advanced technologies and supported the successful accomplishment of major program milestones; most notably the THAAD MSII decision, the GMD Design Readiness Review (DRR), and IBCS MSB decisions, the CPGS Analysis of Alternatives and Family of Systems Concept Feasibility Study, Hypervelocity Missile Concept Technical Feasibility Study, and Hypersonic Vehicle Live-Fire Technology Demonstration.

Simulation Technologies

Verity provides unique expertise managing an extensive portfolio of medium-to-high fidelity models and employs innovative standards-based common middleware solutions to extend the model service life and integration to form new system simulation applications. Simulation environment reuse analysis is performed to determine required changes to existing portfolio capabilities and identify simulation capability gaps. Engineering design tools are used to develop concept design data packages and performance attributes. Verity’s simulation technology experience is derived from simulation development, integration, and validation efforts performed for several major technology development and acquisition programs in the support of system synthesis, concept development, coverage analysis, performance evaluations, survivability assessment, offense-defense integration studies, and technology readiness assessments for strike and defensive systems.

Experimentation Support Tools

Verity’s innovative utilization of “Mission Planning” processes and simulation integration technologies have resulted in an adaptable forward looking “Red Commander” scenario generation environment (SGE). The SGE features an interactive web-based interface that uses a Geospatial Information System (GIS) visualization system to support weaponeering and targeting strike planning functions and integrates DIA-approved trajectory codes to produce mission data for theater ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, rotary wing aircraft, fixed wing aircraft, unmanned air systems, and unmanned ground systems. The Verity SGE “ease of use” enables the analyst to rapidly develop, record, display, and inject “simple to complex” operationally relevant scenarios and conduct a robust evaluation of current force designs and future force concepts including Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Systems, Strike Systems, Unmanned Air and Ground Systems, and Counter Unmanned Air Systems. This capability is planned for use by ATEC to support IBCS independent evaluation and by AMRDEC to support Counter UAS concept evaluation.

Verity personnel also conceived and established an integrated portable analysis network to support flight test experimentation. The analysis network provides an innovative custom rack-mounted capability to process telemetry (TM) data, convert TM data to engineering units, drive visualization displays for monitoring flight test operations, and perform data reduction and post-processing required to support quick look after-action report generation. The analysis network was used in support of an advanced technology demonstration program.

Systems Analysis Methodologies

Verity’s unique Performance, Effectiveness, Trajectory Analysis, Lethality, and Survivability (PETALS) methodology provides a multi-dimensional metrics-based operations analysis approach that is configurable for synthesizing system concepts, assessing effectiveness, and quantifying capabilities, limitations, and benefits. This includes consideration for technology and manufacturability constraints as well as constraints imposed by policy and treaty. The PETALS methodology starts with understanding stakeholder needs to identify and decompose the essential elements of the analysis and define performance evaluation metrics. Design of Experiments (DoE) is used to establish the critical levels and factors needed to outline the operationally relevant conditions for evaluation and required simulation fidelity. Analysis plans are assembled to specify the required runs for record, data collection requirements, and report generation needs. Unique scenario generation tools are used to perform basing and coverage analysis and establish technical and operational performance envelope characterizations. Our comprehensive “Kill Chain” systems performance analysis process is applied to defensive systems to address the Battlefield Effectiveness Key Performance Parameter (KPP) and strike systems to address the Survivability KPP. Performance metrics focus on sensor detection and tracking, threat assessment and weapon planning, communications network, and weapon flyout.

Multimedia

Verity provides multi-media development and integration services to establish responsive stand-alone, web-based and mobile visualization applications. Industry standard tools used to develop interactive web-based applications and services include the Apache web server, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, jQuery, CodeIgniter, and NodeJS. 3d models are developed from a variety of sources from pictures or engineering drawing to the conversion of CAD drawings to provide representations of real-world objects and environments. Environments encompass real-world locations ranging from geographic 15 meter imagery and 90 meter elevation datasets for the entire globe to high resolution imagery of a specific area of interest. These real world visuals have been integrated into many Software Development Kits (SDK) including NASA World Wind, Cesium WebGL, OSGEarth, NRL SIMDIS, AGI STK, and Unity 3D for familiarization, training, and simulation application. Unity3d and Qualcomm Vuforia (augmented reality) are utilized to provide 3d models of real-life structures and environments for use in Situational Awareness and Computer Based Training (CBT).
